Replying to this thread now is like beating a dead horse. But....5'5", 120lbs and you're uncomfy/cramped in the S2000??!! You're sure you're not 6'5", 250lbs?

I daily drove mine in the Rockies. I did 40 miles each way to work from Evergreen (up in the mountains) down to Denver. With snow tires, the S2000 is awesome in the winter. I did go skiing quite a few times with it. My snowboard or skis both fit in the passenger seat with the top up or down. Do it.
Just be aware, minivans can smoke you from a stop light unless you feel like revving to 9k and then you would probably get arrested... The bad news about the S2000 is that cops think you're going fast when you're barely going at all.

Daily drove mine for 3 years. Great Gas mileage and with good snow tires I never got hung up once or slid from how light it was. And it was taken through some pretty good noreasters!
and at 6'5 and used to be 270lbs I still was comfortable!!!!!

In a couple of weeks I am going to have to drive my S for 1500 miles, not sure if it will be a 1 day thing or 2 days, as a DD I love this car, but I think the drive from tx to cali might be a different story.

id do it in 2 days...i used to do from here (virginia beach) to chicago twice a year and thats about 850 miles and id usually do that in about 12 hours...24 straight hours in a car driving sucks, no matter how much fun youre having

I just sold my s2 after driving a 6000km round trip. It took 8 days and 6 trips to the chiropractor to straighten my back and legs out. Also everytime I went to a drive through I would mash my head on the roof hinge trying to talk into the speaker. I'm 6'3'' 230lbs btw. I'm driving a silverado now and it's pretty strange tbh.

2sk s early 2006 and older models not coming with vsa technology. thats huge lack of stability to drive for winter or on the rain.

glad I read this thread. mostly for the homo-erotica though haha
been thinking of purchasing an s2k as a weekender fun car since a low mileage 05 sti's are just outrageous in pricing still.
I have a stock 95 accord since I have a child that can serve as my kid kart.
but when I go to work ( the roads were so damn fun in my sti) I work 24 hour shifts so I dont have to worry about kid transpo, and can have some fun driving.
Ive had many modded hondas over the past 10 years and have always liked the s2k's, and at my part time job (paint shop) I have worked on many s2ks that I loved the look of and loved the feel of when Im pulling them in and out of the shop to be worked on or to paint them.
I think the wife would like to get in it and have some fun too. She drives a tsx and would be fun for her to hop in the s to go somewhere with the top down.
I see an s2k in my future.

yup, had an s2k as a wknd car too. i can say it makes it more enjoyable than a DD. in my DD i'm always trying to get somewhere on time, and it sucks the fun out of the drive. but on weekends, the s2k was just smooth sailing with no where i have to be

Re: So how much of a burden is it using an S2000 as a "daily driver"?
I didn't read through the other posts, just read the OP's. I use my S2000 as a daily driver but I live in Southern California where it rains seven times a year and NEVER snows. I've never taken my S2 to the mountains when there was snow or ice either so I can't say how it acts/reacts to those conditions. I'm sure you COULD put your board in the passenger seat with the top down but that obviously isn't very practical and roof racks aren't exactly in your cards (unless you have and want to ruin a hard top). In conclusion, they can be DD's but in your exact scenario I wouldn't suggest it.

I live in a college town and I'm just about to move into a house with a garage. Until then, I'm always worried about the haters doing something stupid to it. I keep finding nails and pieces of wood right in front of my tires propped up so when i back out it get shoved in...

I saw a bunch of posts a little ways back about insurance for their s2k. I am 18, and should be buying an s2k in the next week or so. Have usaa insurance. 2 points on my license. And for my current ford daily i pay less then 20 bucks a month. I imagine full coverage for me on a s2k will be around $50-$70.
