So how much of a burden is it using an S2000 as a "daily driver"?

First relevant post right here. All these guys living in Fl or Ca have no idea what northern alberta is like.
DO NOT DAILY your s2k here. I live in Edmonton, I work in the oil patch. Your probably gonna be in Grande Prairie or Ft McMurray right? DO NOT DAILY DRIVE your car here. Please.
Guys it gets down below -50 here for weeks, theres alot of snow and ice.. for 6-8 months. If you plan on going back on forth from hongcouver your going to get killed on hwy 43 or 63.
I assume you don't know how hard it would be, or what conditions your in for. I daily drive a 4x4 dodge diesel and get worried sometimes. The amount of heavy traffic on these highways haulin *** and driving aggressively (no matter the conditions) is unbelievable. Then add in all the drunks driving lifted full size pickups doing 160 km/h down "secondary" highways you'll end up getting in a head on, there are alot of dips on these two highways and no one will see you coming. **** I've seen so many near misses on the way to ft mac, while I was in camp in mariana lakes there were two fatal collisions, both with cars and semi trucks.
Again, please take my advice and the guy above, don't even think about it. Last winter was slow and were in for alot busier winter coming up, its going to be worse. Don't even get me started on the condition of our roads...

I thought I loved it until I actually got my beater Civic....so much more comfortable since its not lowered and my seat doesnt feel like its hugging me when Im driving half asleep to work in the a.m. Plus theres actually a back seat to throw my work and gym bags in 2 grand for better gas milage and a more comfortable ride...works for me.

^Hey seeing as how you are from CT I live in Mass and I am contemplating buying an S and making it my daily. We get some snow here and there but does it get very cold in the S with the soft top? I may eventually get a hard top and seat warmers, but one thing I cannot find is what are some good snows for the S? Trying to figure this all out before I pull the trigger.

when it snows its baaad and parked in heavy rain (minor softtop leakidge). any other conditions the car is a ok for a DD. and if your under atleast 5"10 for comfort.

its just a bit noisy in the cockpit, and its a bit bumpy. in contrast to being bumpy if your riding on a smooth surface its smooth as glass. im 6 foot and i fit fine. (i wish the seat went back just like 1 more inch, but thats because i have longer legs than most people, lol). the biggest thing i cant understand is why people say lack of low end torque. for AP2's this isnt really a problem for just driving i beat civics without even popping vtec. as long as ur above 2.5k (which is pretty low for an engine that revs to 8200.) compared to a civic the low end on an AP2 is beast.

Amen! i jus got my red ap1 two weeks ago. ive been used to driving da9's for about 4 years now, i loved sitting in the park taking a nap on my lunch break in my da, but now that's literally out of the question. so is picking up friends, only my boyfriend gets to drive in the passenger seat with me.(yes i'm gay, and very hot!) i'm invested in this thing for 5 years of credit union payments, and i plan on DD all day everyday, i guess there's alot of pros and cons, but i pretty much forfeited that when i bought the car right? i mean im sure its gonna be a bitch when i need to move an old t.v. or a table, but there's other people i know who have cars, and then there's always U-HAUL.
my only concern right now is... would lowering my ap1 with eibach pro kit lowering springs be a bad idea?? my budget is pretty low.

DD is fine. I've been doing it for 3+yrs. Just park far from other cars so it doesn't get dented or scratched. Also, get a hardtop for more security + it looks better!
Oh, and don't go grocery shopping with it! LOL

i dont understand why people make threads like this, opinons are like ******** everybodys got them,
as a previous poster said. if your good with a noisy interior and no trac control in the snow then go for it
otherwise get a 540i

It's not a burden at all in my opinion. As long as your under 6'2" and don't require much cargo space, it works great!

^^^
I'm quite active and find myself bumming rides to golf since only my bag will fit in the trunk or driving the Teg or Ti if I have to haul more than groceries. I did fit one racing seat upside down in the passenger side. The "S" shouldn't be your only car if that's the case.

only problem I have that if the seat could go back a tad bit more, also I notice my a/c doesnt blow cold constant... like there are some non cold moments, and I keep trying to locate the gas lever all the time lol
