3500 for optimal gas millage is what the owners manual says. 9200 for a lil zoom.

I mean the optimal shift points for each gear. Not for fuel economy.

optimal for what? accel or millage? I think the 3500 was the recommended shift point, not specifically for milage.

peak hp is at 8300, but you still want to shift at redline so when you are in the next gear you'll still be in VTEC.

At times I can shift at 8000 and still stay in VTEC, you don't necessarly have to redline it to stay in VTEC, but if you are "racing" then yeah I guess you should drive it like you stole it. LOL.

as high as you can 1-2 and 2-3, back off a little to like 8800-9000 for the remaining shifts.

When the tach hits 9k I start my shift. If I wait any longer the limiter kicks in.

That's always a funny statement, if you stole a car wouldn't you drive it slow to not attract attention?

Shifting to second I shift at around 8500, for a second gear wheel spin... Then again im running really low on tires. It cant spin on second shifting anywhere else.

Thats what I've always thought. The people that stole my car slowed down so the toll booth would scan my tolltag... cost me 80 cents to get my car stolen that day.

i guess the saying would be better suited to refer to a car thief on the run from the cops after the car's been discovered stolen lol

If you want to know the exact points... look up the formula (i forget what it is) for optimal accel shifting. I believe you need to know what rpm max horsepower is made at and go from there.
