Default Recommended Shift Points

First off, let me apologize that my first point on H-T would be a question that can be answered by the S2K's manual but unfortunately mine didn't come with one. I tried searching but couldn't find the answer.

With that out of the way, when doing normal (not spirited) driving, when do you guys shift? Previously, I've owned a Civic and BMW M3, which definitely did not have a 9K redline. I wanted to make sure I wasn't low-revving the car while I wait for my manual to arrive at the dealership. Thanks for the help!

man with the gas prices being skyhigh. i recommend you to shift as early as possible. i really dont even look at tach when i shift, just when i feel the car is revving higher than needed.

there isnt a "certain" point to shift... some people granny shift their cars and shift at 2-3k , others like myself use the gears and streach them out to about 4500 ish. also depends on my mood as well... overcast/glummy days im chill and shift earlier...

Since VTEC kicks in at 6000rpm I'd shift just before that. That's where you'll get the better mpg. If you're concerned about having to look at the tac all the time, don't worry, after a few times listening to the revs, you'll automatically know when to shift. If you want to drive at the lowest rpms, I would make sure you don't shift up into lower than 2000 rpms. All this should come to you after driving for no more than about 15 min.

Just admit that you were guessing. That's not for an AP2 either.

Sorry, it is an '02. I forgot that the AP1 and AP2 redline differently.

Thanks for all of the help!
