Default S2000 in the winter

I have searched about this topic and got some good info, from what I can gather if I get snow tires I will have no problem, except in the heavy stuff. My question is right now my car has all season tires on it (Sumitomo HTR H4), I know snow tires will be better but will they be $400-$500 better, or will the all seasons be ok. Next question is, in terms of snow tires I have found a pretty good deal on Pirelli Winter 210 SnowSport, 4 for around $200-250. What do you guys think of the tires, should I spend the extra $$$ and get blizzaks? Thanks in advance.

Don't say something unless you've experienced it yourself. I drove 30+ miles on stock S02's in 3-4 inches of snow (not by choice, was supposed to rain that day). The car can move! I'm sure if I had snow tires, 3-4 inches would have been easy

Thanks for all the info, I am going to buy snow tires, unless I can find a beater that will get the job done for cheap.

Personally, I'd opt for a cheap beater. You can find a EF/EG Civic for real cheap. Then slap some snows on those and you're ready to go. You could set all of this up for under $1000 easy.

I have been in a $400 winter beater for 2 winters now. It depends on how much your willing to give up to own a seasonal car. I don't mind driving a car that cost less than my header.
