Default s2000 reliability?

I've decided to get an S2000, it's time to sell the civic and I am was hoping i could borrow some of your people's advice about them..

1. Are there any years of s2000's to avoid? Pros vrs Cons of each year(if any)

2. Are S2000's as reliable as I've come to know Honda's for being?

3. If i decide to get a new one what options are not worth the cost(if any) and what options are worth it or recomended?

Thanks for taking your time to read this and thankyou for answering any of the question you do...

I'd stay away from 2000-2001 S2K's. The glass rear window owns j00! Plus 2002+ Have better ECU's.

What skafia said is true but if you can find a good deal on a 00-01, I wouldn't pass it up. You will be happy with any model year for sure.

Yes, it is a Honda.

3. If i decide to get a new one what options are not worth the cost(if any) and what options are worth it or recomended?
There weren't really any options for the S2k besides hard-top, cd changer, and factory body kit (lip, side strakes, wing). They all come with everything.

The 2 things that **** me off about MY00:
1. There is no way to unlock the passenger door from the drivers side without manually doing it. The alarm remote unlock button wont work if the car is on.
2. There is no clock.

The 04 does not have an unlock switch. You can only unlock the passenger door if you lean over, or if you use the key on the alarm, but the car has to be off

It's very gay.

Such a nice car and they can't even give you a remote unlocker. That sucks.

hitting the key fob twice doesn't unlock the passenger door like the 00-03's?

Yes, it does. I don't know, I just don't miss this feature like some people do. Keep the S2000 light, tight, and ready to fight. She's heavy enough already.

You can unlock the passenger door with the key fob IF the car isn't running. Which sucks because if you are picking someone up and need to unlock it you either need to unbuckle seat-belt and reach over or turn the car off and use the key fob. It would have made much more sense just to put a button on the drivers door to do it.

Besides what I've said already, the cup holder location kind of sucks too. It's right where your arm rests while holding the shift ****. I think I read that they moved it for MY04 but I forget.

yes we need a way to unlock it from just sitting there.. i'm to lazy to reach over... (just tell her to hop on in.. ) the tops down anyways.. and yes the cup holder is horrible. if i put a drink in it.. it's awkward to shift... gotta lift my arm way up in the air.....
