Default S2000 Needs some help!

Hey guys I need some advice here. I have an 00 S. Recently it started to miss so I took it in and they said that it needed a tune up. So I said cool, well the mechanic said that one of the cylinders wasnt at normal compression, which is 160, but instead was at 75. So he said what I needed to do was pretty much pull the engine out. This does suck but I am thinking about doing a complete engine re-build with high performance everything. But would it be better just to get rid of it and get another one? (I love S200's).
I read every topic and I know that there are guys that know there **** so please help me out. And I heard about the V2 AEM cold air intakes, anybody have one? Cuz I only want the best for my baby, so if anybody knows which is the best intake let me know.

Thanks guys.

It's hard to make sense of that dude. What exactly is your question about your motor?

As for your intake question, Comptech Ice box is top notch.

well the mechanic isnt sure yet cuz my car is in the shop and still under diagnosis, but I guess what is wrong is a valve cuz he was talking about a valve adjustment. And sorry for the message im not a pro at all this technical stuff. But i am pretty sure that the engine needs to be pulled out to make the repair, so what I was thinking is why not just upgrade rings, pistons, vavle, cuz that was my intention for the car but not right away.

Oh, I see. Definitely upgrade dude, the motor is apart and everything, put better parts in it. When anything stock breaks on you, always upgrade.

if compression is down on one cylinder, chances are the rings are the culprit but it can honestly be anything. If you want to rebuild the engine, what will you do with the car? What purpose will the rebuild serve?

yikes, be careful making that statement. I'm not paid by honda but when I say the precision and maching put into honda OEM parts where honda made it or had another company make it is top notch...well besides those shitty trannys in most of the automatic V6's that really suck.

I thought about that as I typed it pretty much. Some parts are good to stay OEM while others it is ok to upgrade.

You probably have some bent valves. Did you over-rev your engine by shifting into the wrong gear?
