yeah make sure your engine is fully warm, also does it shut off completely or just hit a brick wall when vtec tries to engage?

problem started when header was installed, only mods are intake, header and throttle body.
everything was fine until the header install.

just stating the obvious since there isn't a lot of info to work with, try installing the stock header and see what happens If the install went properly, I can't see a reason why your having issues. A wire could've been damaged in the install, a connector unplugged and not plugged back in. It could be many things.

doubtful that it's the header. perhaps theTB if anything at all due to the TPS sensor, IIRC on the S. Not sure how adjustable it is, but it must be tuned correctly.

Can you describe the scenario a bit more? Going at X speed, downshift to 1st... then what?

Do you blip the throttle at all?

sorry, i'll try to be a little more detailed.

when the intake and TB was installed NP's.
after the header install, installed by Honda,
the engine will gradually shut itself off when i hit vtec.

it isn't always downshifting to first at any speed that does it. sometimes i just launch it in first, (full throttle after the initial wheel spin, and when vtec comes along, the rpms start moving backwards. hope thats detailed enough

perhaps the header is leaking? did you put the header gasket on with it?

so your dealer installed the header? if so, have you asked them why you're having problems?
