POOR S2000 :(
davepk only used the wing. it was swapped back and forth between doug's car in the open track challenge a few years ago. jzr/jason was a co-driver for davepk's and doug's cars - so the wing was used on both cars in two different classes. (davepk - supercharged in unlimited 2 and doug n/a'ed in touring 3) an active wing like that isn't legal because it is adjustable in the car. however, it was legal for the 'anything goes' in OTC.
this is a plus and a minus for OTC competitors: they can go wild with various ideas, but because nothing is tightly looked at like the classes are in autocross, everyone can just be bad drivers in fast cars, or to explain that better - cubic dollars win races.
if you want to look at some of the vids, you might check out http://gofastvideo.com and look under the track sections. look for jzr and davepk runs.

*thumbs up* the higher the more functional, especially on these cars. if you get the wing to be over the roof, it will be even more functional, since it will be pushing down air that isn't channeled over or around the cabin. if it isn't high enough, the air will be more dense and you will not get as much downforce. however, even with a little wing or spoiler, like the mugen three piece (I have it) it is quite functional, and apparently gives an estimated 200lbs of downforce.
post pictures when you get it on there.

higher the more functional eh? maybe a apr cf wing. that sucker is high. i know with the higher wings there is an issue of the too much downforce and the wing actually denting the trunk. any way to prevent this? i am thinking some reiforcing metal plate where the wing bolts in
I forget who that car belongs to, but the owner is on S2ki.com. He regularly does OTC events. IIRC, that is the second iteration of the wing. The 1st was basically just a curved piece of sheet metal that he claimed worked fantastically for keeping the rear planted in even the lowest speed corners, but was very detrimental to overall speed. It was even uglier looking than this solution IMHO.
Also note that this guy has these wings attached to a junkyard trunk that he only used for OTC and track day events. He kept the stock, wingless trunk for street use, and would swap them out as needed.

there was a feature on the chaparelles in automobile magazine. They used an automatic transmission, and a seperate pedal to control the wing in place of the clutch pedal.
