Default N/A Aftercooler?

Just wondering, but would a N/A S benefit from an aftercooler? Wouldnt it insure colder air than a CAI?

Not likely at all. Any intercooler/aftercooler can only cool the air charge to the same temp as the ambient air temp.

Wouldnt ambient air still be cooler than the air in the engine bay. Wouldnt it insure the air temp to be the same all the time unlike a CAI which is pulling air from down low near the hot street?

Ok than what if you added a N-tercooler nitrous spray on the aftercooler?

yeah, outside air temp is probably cooler than the air in your engine bay, but I can't guess at how many degrees cooler.

If you had something like the N-tercooler, then it might be more effective because that would chill the air charge.

LOL, you laugh at the idea, but an A/C would be cheaper than some of the JDM intakes.

the n-tercooler actually sprays nitrous onto the intercooler from my knowledge..... therefore it will not work with an aftercooler...

if you have a air to water you can put ice or chilled water in it and it will make it colder the out side temp. the n-tercooler also can use co2. much cheaper then n2o

something else to consider is velocity and flow. and an inter cooler is meant to reduce the temprature of hot compressed air, it would never match it to ambient. with an inter cooler that close to the radiator you're bound to get some heat soak. Even if for some magical reason it did work would it be worth the couple hundred bucks you would spend to get a few ponies?

I have seen a couple of other devices that could aid in what you seek. one is something you can hook up to an existing intake kit, and may even be S2000 model specific, It is a device that allows you to insert dry ice. The other is a CO2 kits that sprays on the intake pipe and drops the intake temps.

Swaintech.com or swain-tech.com has a BBE coating that you can send off your intake manifold and have put on. its black in color, with this coating and a Hondata intake manifold gasket(if available) im sure you could drop intake temps even further.

A duct to get air from in front of the radiator stuff would be your best bet at getting the coolest air possible. An intercooler won't do much good on uncompressed air, probably just restrict airflow Maybe if the intercooler was in a cooler full of ice or something, then that'd probably be a different story

Im not trying this out, but it was just a thought. Anyhow, whats the difference spending a grand on a few hp when people are doing it anyway with normal intakes, headers, or exhausts.

Everyones talking intercoolers, what about an aftercooler. The Comptech one is small and shoudnt restrict air flow due to less piping to run through. Also its Air to water.

um, that what i said??? the aftercooler will work. Or there is a comp called Cyrogen? I think? It he a tube that hooks up to your intake that sends co2 into the tubes so the air can be cooled. the left over co2 can be sent out teh exhaust so it pulls the gas out of your exhaust. you can run you fuel and what ever else there too. you can cool it all
