i just bought ( well my parents bought me cause im 16) a 2002 s2000 with low miles...as in only 17k. my parents are buying a comptech x-brace and billet rear tie bar, and i just bought tein lowering springs. i am about to do engine upgrades and did not know whether to get certain things.....


aem cold air intake or J's cai intake
aluminum lightened flywheel
kevlar spoon airduct
Apexi VTEC Controller
skunk2 cat-back exhaust system
new exhaust headers

? please help me....as i am somewhat new to modding and racing. what other products do u suggest too?

Don't waste your money on those useless mods.. S2000 is already fast as it is... In my opinion S2000 is DANGERIOUSLY FAST if you don't know how to drive it well... Just no point of making it faster so my suggesstion is save that money and get some driving lessons.. or work to improve handling full suspension kit, strut bars etc.. or ain't nothing wrong with making it look better, RIMS, Bodykits... etc... just dropping my 2cents..

 

how about you leave it stock and go take a performance driving course before you kill youself...

Or you could learn how to drive it to its potential first, then mod it appropriately. Its like the squids that buy brand new motorcycles, and want to slap all kinds of bolt ons on them before they even get a chance to really push the thing...lol.

you just got the car... there's no way you know how to drive it PROPERLY.... i guarantee it...

the s is not a smash the gas pedal, shift and drive type of car.. it takes finesse in order to drive it correctly...

and just cause your dad drove for bmw's or whatever, doesn't mean your experience and skills are equaled to your father....

and with the attitude that you seem to have with your most recent post you're definently going to end up in a ditch..

i dragged some fat rich kid with a volvo s60r super charged.......i won cause he was fat and his car is heavy already but it was close......but the rest of the time its been on road course. mostly the illegal mexicans who put a full body kit on their 92 civic and take off the hub caps so they look really tight (not) and gigantic spoilers. i love em. they make my day.

Altadena is about... 2 hours away from me. Which means you're close to Willow Springs. Take that car out there in spring, stock for stock in TTD, and you will be graded, grasshopper.

If you really know the car that by adding just basic mods you won't gain much from it..So save up and get the Turbo/Supercharger or go NA with some stroker kit.. For now if you must mod, go with an full exhaust...

Racing with some ghetto *** civics on the street will not give you any experiences... It'll just kill you if you crash or if you get caught, you'll get a big *** ticket and take your license away for life or at least til you're mature enough not to race on the street or anywhere for that matter, other than controlled environment specifically for the purpose.

Driver for BMW, as in? He's driven an automobile made by BMW? V12 LMR?

You're gonna need more than 4 months and a dozen races (which, it seems half were for "pink slips, y0!") to get over the full learning curve of a stock S2k.

There is one bit of truth to your words though...i in fact do not own an S2000, as of September 19th, 2005. But come tax return time, that'll probobly change again. So that was a good guess on your part (lmao)...my guess?
