increase tq?
Hey everyone...bout a couple nights ago I went to the track I just got MY06..hehe..and I raced this Cobalt SS like 5 times and we were neck and neck the whole time..im assuming he kept up with me because of his torque?!..now I understand that the cobalt is 205hp supercharged and the torque is around the same range...is there any way to increase the torque in our cars??..and still keep it N/A?..or is turbo/supercharger the way to go?..I would really like to stay N/A tho..any suggestions would help..
One more question..this drive-by-wire throttle system...what is exactly is that?..I've heard that previous models didnt have this but now the '06 models do...can anyone explain to me what the heck that is??...does it affect the shifting at all as far as acceleration???...sry for being such a freakin noob..but I had to ask right?...
thanks in advance guys!!

not on a dyno.... it doesn't really "give" you more power/torque..

lol. yeah for real buddy.
Drive-by-wire is a system that controls your throttle input via a computer. Usually you have a throttle cable and you control how much throttle you want. Now with your model it decides for you, mainly for the traction control. There is also a slight delay when you press the gas, usually. I dont know how well the Honda one is but in other cars its pretty apparent and annoying.

just got an 06 and u lost the warranty already...hope u arent paying for it
u could have a speed shop mod the ecu, cold air intake, exhaust, stickers, the final drive gear will make your trq more usuable for the track, bring a gas tank to the track with you and only put enough gas in for each race, saving weight, liquid is one of the heaviest things u can remove. you can put in a lightweight driveshaft, replace to a lightweight flywheel, and the smartest way to improve track times is to improve the driver

and the track should match u up with a car thats gonna be a close race

Shorter gear ratio = higher torque ratio. Cmon now, it's like using 2nd gear instead of 3rd.

I've driven 2 06's, the delay isnt even noticeable, but the VSA is.

i'd like t oadd i saw a guy at a recent auto-X spin out in a 06. I really hope he had turned it off cause to spin out even with something assisting you is kinda embarassing. In his defense he was pushing it pretty hard.

I threw an 06 into an onramp with the VSA on, and it corrects understeer noticeably, but I haven't had a chance to test the oversteer correction.

I think a cobalt shouldn't be next to u at all!! If it was then, what was your time ?What i heard is the 06 can run high 13's bold stock !!! You might need to check your driving skills not to be mean or anything!!

not just the 06, all S2000's in stock form are capable of 13's. It takes a very good driver to do it (also weather, elevation, temp, etc... play a factor)

Shift just before the rev limiter. Anything less and your rpms in the next gear are too low. The tach should be blinking.

the s2k isnt set up stock to drag, sure a good driver can get good results, but your average driver fooling around at the track is gonna run up against someone like this supercharged cobalt that can probably make some better launch times and hang in there.
the s only finishes the 1/4mile at 98mph i think, so the ss could be a little slower and still seem close at that speed.

shift when the tach blinks? meaning after it hits the rev limiter, you nuts!

increase bore diameter increase stroke
get feel's 2.3L kit </TD></TR></TABLE>
i think it would be a waste of money and time to incease displacement by .1 2.2-2.3 isn't going to be that noticeable,
get a 2.5 stroker kit. or Turbo that bish
