Torque wrench with drive adapter?
Tomorrow I'm taking the front hub off of a car, and I will need to torque the nut back between 170-200 ft lbs when I reinstall it. The only torque wrench I have that will go over 150 ft lbs is a 3/8'' drive. The nut is 30mm, and the only 30mm socket I have is 1/2'' drive. If I use a drive adapter to bump it up to 1/2'' drive, will the reading still be accurate, or will it twist like an extension would?
I searched all over and I found shady answers... anybody know?

It will twist, but not as much as an extension.
How much, I don't think anyone can answer. It would depend on the material used, design of the adapter, etc...
If it were me (and I don't always do everything "correctly"), I'd go ahead and use it, just torque to the higher end of the range. This is going off of the assumption (which could very well be wrong) that you won't have more than 30 ft-lbs of inaccuracy due to the adapter.
