Idle Control Switch
I recently started my 2000 S2K, and got a check engine light as soon as I started the car. I then hooked up a tester to the car to find out what code it was throwing. The code was a P1519, Idle Control Switch Sensor. I know the sensor is rivited to the throttle body, so I know the sensor itself can not be replaced. My buddy who is a honda tech at a dealership took a look at the problem for me. He reset the code once and it came back as soon as I started the car. We then went ahead and wiggled the pins in the sensor itself and then tapped on the sensor, plugged it back in, reset the code again and started the car. The CEL, went out and the car ran fine. I drove it for about 15 minutes and it ran perfect. I then shut the car off for the night and this morning started it and the light came back on and it runs like poop again. The only mods I have done to the car engine wise is the J's Racing 70RR exhaust, and a K&N filter if you wanna call that a mod. The exhaust however is header back with zero resignators, and the second O2 sensor has an extension on it to prevent the CEL from tripping. Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem and what they might have done to solve it? Thanks.
If it went away by wiggling around stuff then it sounds like something in the sensor is just not getting a solid connection. Before doing anything I would make sure that the sensor is getting solid connections before investigating further.
