I need a tune-up...i'm not going to the dealer
my S has 42,000 on it and as far as i know (2nd owner) its never had a tune-up and I need one....but I refuse to go to another Honda dealer in central Mass...or Boston for that matter (herb chambers and bernardi F'D me already on warranty and other repairs) so i was wondering if any of you guys (in MASS that is) knew of someplace legit that I can have a thorough tune-up and won't make me grab my ankles....I would like someplace aside from the s h i tt y dealerships that are in my area...thank you
What type of tune up/service are you looking to perform?
Do you have tools to do the work yourself if you knew the items that needed to be done? Most service on cars less than 100K miles aren't that hard to complete with some basic hand tools, a buddy, and some beers.
Did you try:
1. Another Honda dealer somewhere else?
2. Local shop?

thats why I need your help....I tried three dealers already and they all treat the car like an alien one foreman even said "we don't get many of these in here we don't have an s2000 pro" that scarred me enough to never go back...I'm nervous about working on it myself....i mean oil changes and little things like that are a snap but I hear a lil ticking from the engine and figure it needed the valves adjusted....local shop would be great just need someone to recommend one to me....I don't have friends with s2k's so I'm on my own
alright I will trust you...I never had a tune-up on my 2000 teg (103K) and it still drives and runs fine so I hope the S will do the same....thanks for the input

i know its a litte bit of a drive since hes in NY, but PM billman on s2ki.... honestly hes a ****** S2000 genius... thats the only other person that i will let touch my car... all he does is work on S's
And def dont listen to this babble: <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by m R g S r »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">blah just change all the fluids and you're good to go
o check the air filter and cabin filter</TD></TR></TABLE>
the only reason hes saying this is because its not his car... if you here a ticking get it checked out... he'll check your valves and retainers... he can spot a cracked retainer from a 10 feet away and i wouldnt have known the difference... this is def important if you have an AP1 since the AP2's are beefier... take my advice, as its good advice and put the time/money into and know you have a safe/strong running vehicle, or dont and risk blowing up your hard worked investment... its ur call... PM me for more details/info... peace
