Help with tweeter install...
first....i got a 2002 s2k
I just purchased the Polk MMC6500 and while trying to install the tweeter ran into some problems.
Maybe some MMC6500 users can chime in
First pic shows how it comes, basically with its on tweeter pod

Second pic shows how its mounted and glued in there.

Ive tried to mount them with the pod which was too big.
Ive read the install FAQs and it never mentioned anything about aftermarket tweeters coming with its own pod. Im kinda scared to try to break the Polk tweeter pod and damaging the tweeter.
Anyone have any suggestions?

first, off.... you have a COMPONENT set of speakers. the all have PODS as you call them to protect the tweeters from damage. dont even think of trying to remove them. you said you have an 02? use a dremmel tool on the oem tweeter covers until they fit. I have alpine component type-r tweeters and they fit perfectly with a lil modifing.

I have these same speakers in my Grand Cherokee, but I don't understand your problem.
Mine came with two different kinds of pods, I used the one that let them swivel a little bit.
What are you having problems with?

do not bridge. that amp will do the job just fine
upgrade to a infinity amp if you want it to sound cleaner though..

for anyone else with having problems installing tweeters:
take the oem tweeter with bracket off... take heat gun or hair dryer and warm up the bracket... with an exacto knife, remove bracket from tweeter... now use double sided tape/some glue and adhere the bracket to the new tweeter... now itll be in same location as your oem one and will fit perfectly...
