Headlight Alignment Inquiry
True/False:
Headlights at night are not aligned evenly for left and right headlight (right is higher than left), so they do not blind people at night when driving. I noticed this tonight when I was driving, and was wondering. Traveling down unlit roads showed a clear cut division between right and left headlight, and it clearly showed the right headlight being higher than the left headlight. Was wondering if this statement by another s2k owner was indeed correct, or should I look into headlight alignment. Thanks.

answered my own question..i guess it's true..although it does seem odd.

If your headlights have a notched pattern, there is nothing to worry about, they are designed that way. If you're in a country where you drive on the right hand side of the road, your right side notch will be higher than your left ( to prevent blinding of oncoming traffic), and vise versa.

perfectly normal. and for those people who want to take their s2k to the dealership and have them align it b/c you think its blinding others, they won't...it is illegal for them to change the headlight allignment from factory settings. there was a couple who brought their s2k into the service department at my job and they were angry to hear that.
ah.. that makes sense.
but really...that sort of attention to detail is pretty nuts. i would NEVER have thought to do that (I guess that's why I'm in business, not engineering).
