Default hardtop question

I'm looking to get the Honda hardtop and not the Mugen. Honda salesman told me the softop would have to be removed in order to have a hardtop installed but I did a search on this site and somone said you just needed to have the softop down and the hardtop went ontop. Which one is right?

If the softop needs to be removed would it be easy enough to install and remove the hardtop at the begining and end of winter that I could do it with a friend or is this something that should be done at the dealer?

Your dealer has no clue what they are talking about. You fold the soft top back and the hard top goes right on over it. You dont have to take it out.

The hardtop should be taken off with two ppl and takes less then 30 sec. to remove or install.

So no hard to figure out weatherproof brackets or anything like that have to be attached to the car for the hardtop to fit into?

Sounds like the guy I talked to was an idiot.
Good for me, bad for him.
Thanks for the fast responces.

When you buy the hardtop it comes with all the hardware. You do have to change a few things out, which I would recomend the dealer doing so you dont have any leaks, but its nothing major like taking the whole soft top out.

You also have to find your rear defroster plug if you have an 02+.

not always...

they make the A,B,C hardware kits for the hardtops...

some dealors throw the kits in with the purchase, some you have to buy it seperate...
