Default hardtop

for those people that have the hardtop do you think its worth the money? And where did you get one besides the OEM Honda one? I'm looking for a aftermarket one but cant find one. Thanks

Worth it? Such a vague question. It's only "worth" what you want it for and what you want to spend on it.

If you don't get an OEM one, KingMotorsports offers a CF one also. And one that is a replica of the factory one.

What color is your S2000?

let me see... ask yourself this! you have a wife? you have kids? you planning to sell your car? if you applied YES!!! to any of these questions... NO its not worth it! most importantly, you LOVE your car... its a YES!!! > > > worth it!!!

then again the soft top worth last long, harder to maintain, its kindna ugly! im planning on buying the Mugen hardtop this fall!

1. it looks better
2. its lighter then the oem hardtop
3. easy to maintain

oh... yea the soft top have blind spot!!! be carefulll...

I have tried to picture the CF hardtop, and it just seems like it would look like total *** on these cars. I like CF hoods, lips, etc. But I just can't imagine the CF hardtop. I'd like to see one installed! That's for sure.

Kingmotorsports has a crappy pic of it on the site....it doesn't give you a good visual of what the top looks like.

since you are in NY, it may be worth it for the winter.

I'm in FL and don't think it would be worth it as I can go top down almost year round.

For the price, I'd just get a beater for winter driving...

The hardtop certainly doesn't add to the looks of the car...

I'd def. get a different car for winter driving...but I think you're crazy if you don't think the hard top looks amazing! Atleast that's my thoughts. On silverstone and Suzuka blue, it looks hot.

I don't think so much on black, well cuz the soft top is black so there isn't much difference there.

</TD></TR></TABLE>I certainly wouldn't say it looks bad--definitely better than with the soft top up.

But I wouldn't say it looks better than the car with the top down...And especially not $3000 better

The CF hardtop looks pretty damn nice but you could also get the FRP hardtop.

FRP version: Comes unpainted in an off-white color. Mugen recommends painting the top (& around the rear window) body color & the b-pillar area black (Right behind side windows).

CF version: You can also paint it if you want, but why would anyone want to paint over cf? You might as well get the FRP version & save yourself around $2000+.

thanks for posting the pics jeff, I miss the mugen cf top. Quality/fitment was OEM. The cf top is "significantly" lighter than the OEM(stripped and non-stripped). I could remove the cf top by myself where the OEM top requires 2 people and the weight can be felt.

I'm now running the OEM top, didn't notice a difference in sound reduction, with a hardtop, exterior noise is significantly reduced. However, if you drive with the top down a lot or raise/lower the soft top, a hardtop wouldn't be practical. Personally, I prefer a hardtop, but I know those that don't. It's preference. There's added security with the hardtop and with the OEM top, you'll reduce blind spots. There will still be blind spots with the Mugen top. As for paiting the CF top, I've finally learned that body panels should be painted, even if CF. It looks better in my opinion to have everything match.

The problem is that they're not all that bad a buy, either, for what you get. I can hear the ITR's ear's pricking up...I'd better shut up....
