Coilover Help PLEASE!
Since it seems that you've got more $$ than brains and have no desire to put this car to what it is designed for...might as well just buy a Tein system, add the EDFC, stiffen it up all you can, and there you go.

I would say the same thing, just not as harshly.
There is no need, again NO NEED to dump a few grand in coilovers if you aren't going to use them on a track. Otherwise, you just don't need them and the rattling bowels-type of ride gets tiring on a daily driven car. Yes, it is fun, yes it is great on the backroads, but traffic-going car... you really don't want that.

then, I really do suggest, being a college student (you, not I) that you live within your means. the cost of a set of coilovers + corner balancing (because you will hurt the handling if you don't do it correctly) + proper alignment all need to be factored in. if you make payments on the car, put the dollars to the principle. if you don't, and you want to get the most out of the car, spend 250 for a weekend of tracktime + instructor and you'll learn how to handle the car a little bit better, especially if you are just trotting around in the backroads.
keep in mind - a harsher suspension does NOT mean that the car handles any better than a softer one. that is an entirely false assumption. while in some applications, yes, it does, in others, no it doesn't. in principle, the spring and shock work together, however they work with the other. the shock modulates the spring and the spring keeps the modulation of the shock in action. you *can* go with a softer spring and a higher valved shock. this will provide better turn-in capabilities in some applications, while the driver (and passenger if you have one ?) does not have to suffer the bowel-rattling roads.
but of course, at the track... might want to just shoot for 800# springs all around, custom triple adjustables with remote reservoirs filled with argon... eh, but what do I know?

I will be purchasing coilovers for my 04' S2000 within the next couple of days, i have done endless research but still am undecided. I am choosing between the Bilstein PSS9, TEIN FLEX w/ EDFC, and TEIN RA's.
-the car will be rarely tracked/auto-x
-i like a stiff ride
-i need a top quality/reliable system
anyone have experience, etc with any of these coilovers?
your input is greatly appreciated, thanks</TD></TR></TABLE>
all 3 will satisfy your needs. Pick whatever you like better (looks, brand name, etc etc).

If you're just doing this to lower the car, get whatever, it won't matter. Get the cheapest with an adjustable damper. Or Koni Yellows with some sleeves (don't know much about the sleeves).

Sounds like you've already made up your mind about what you want to do, so if you want to blow $2500 on coilovers for a car that won't be raced, go for it.

Yep.
If you just want to lower the car, I recommend some Koni Yellows. They have 2 spring mounting perches. One is about 2/3in lower than stock. They are much better than stock and can be stiffened up quite a bit. You can use the stock springs. If you don't think that is low enough, get a set of Comptech or Ground Control sleeves. You can do this entire job for $1000 to $1300. Take the extra cash and buy a killer exhaust or something.

i would stay away from the teins. bilstein's i dont have any experience with so i cant comment on those. other brands to consider would be JIC FLT-A2's or buddy club dampers or buddy club racing spec coilovers. its up to you what you go with but atleast you are heading in the right direction when it comes to lowering your car. do it properly once so u wont have to do it again.
If you are just wanting to lower the car, I would also stay away from the Buddy Clubs. We just put a set on my girlfriends MY04. If you try to lower the car more than about an inch in the front, the lower spring perch will contact the upper control arm.
id say go for the tein flex with edfc..there is a GB on s2ki for them...plus they u can change the settings from inside the car
...if ont the tein flex...then bilstein, buddy club, or tein RA...either one will do...but if u really want a setup that u dont have to change..then koni & spings will do
