Default Tein BASIC Coilovers..

Sometime this summer i need to toss my stock suspension for a nice handling setup. I've read so many good things about Tein and my jaw dropped when i saw the price of the new Basic system. So, my question: How many of you are riding on these and how are they? Post pics or comments if you've got them.
Uses:
1) Cruising around town, decent streets w/ the occasional pothole
2) Occasional auto-crossing.

Bump. How new is this offering from Tein? I haven't heard of it. How much?

Your honda-tech for dummies link is great.

The "Basic" kit is a new product from Tein. That's why no one is going to be able to give you feedback on it. It just came out. I don't even know if resellers can get it yet.

Yes, i understand that it's new..so i understand the lack of responses. Broadening my topic, what is everyone's opinion of Tein parts? Are they resistant to snow and ice? What kind do you have and what do you do?

I've had HA's on my 5th gen forthe last 80k miles (car had 30k miles when I got them, and now has 110k), and I've tracked the car a lot. So far, so good. However, I live in southern california, and I've notice that the threads atop the shocks are rusting, and that thethreads on the actual body are showing some discoloration, and as you can surmise so. cal. isn't exactly reputed for inclement weather-- and, yes, I did treat the threads with antisieze prior to install. My point? If you live in an inclement environment you'll have to be more dilligent w/ keeping the teins clean --unless you get the RA's which have an Al shockbody = no rust-- and you should be good; even with the condition of the shocks now, after so much (ab)use I can't complain, and for how much HA's are going for new, I'd reccomend them twice over. If you need a reccomendation on where to buy, I have two friends that are tein dealers. Good luck. ps- if you do get these, YOU MUST get your car cornerweighted and aligned, otherwise you're better of just getting springs and shocks.

Cornerweighting is the process of getting even distribution of the weight over the front wheels, and equal cross weights. It's done by putting the car on scales (1 under each tire) and weighing each corner, and adjusting it by lowering/raising the car. This is done with the driver in the car, and with a predetermined load of fuel, and it usually takes ~ 4hours... so, bring a book.

well guys i don't think the tein suspension is expensive cus it comes with coilovers and shock right? if u're any joe off the street u buy shytty ground control with no shocks. and plus there is nop better suspension than tein and JIC. they r just unbelievable rides!!!!

JIC and TIEN are completely different.. I think the JICS are Made Far better then TIENS. I have the JICS and MONOTUBE designs are Hands down Great.. TIENS are double tube design
