Default Won't Start

I have a 92 Prelude with a 94 H23 block and a 94 H22 head. It has a battery relocation kit so to battery is in the trunk. Now the problem is it won't start. It stalled on me the other day on my way to work. I was driving through a lot of snow because we got dumped on the night before and got over a foot. After it stalled I was rolling so I tried to pop the clutch to start it back up but it just slid because of the snow. Once I stopped it I tried to restart it but it won't start. I had the battery tested and ended up buying a new one. So I put the new battery in and it still wouldn't start. It won't even turn over. It tried to turn over a couple times but most of the time I get nothing from the starter. It doesn't even make a sound. There is a small sound coming from behind the motor. Sounds like a small electrical motor running but it only does it when I try to start it. So please if you have any idea what the problem is please let me know. Its my only transportation so I need it for work.

Just suggestions from a novice. My prelude was giving the same issues and it turned out to be the igniter in the distributor. They tend to go in cold weather, likewise it could be the ignition coil in the distributor as well. Again you are just going to have to diagnose and trouble-shoot.

Diagnose: take one of the spark plug out, place it on the valve cover to see if you get a spark or not. If you do, try some carb cleaner in the intake manifold to see if you it maybe a fuel issue. If the carb cleaner works it could be a fuel pump. Just some suggestions to get you started.

Sorry I overlooked where you said it did not turnover. Any luck yet. Dunno, in addition to the other suggestions look into the idea of a bad Main Relay.

How about gauge sizes on the wires you have for the relocation kit, its posible that they are thick enough and at normal ldol dont generate a strong enough current. Also if its been said or not, the ignitor.

This wouldn't explain why it stalled....but most likely your starter is the problem.

Try hitting it with a heavy, blunt object a few times, hard, but don't break the thing, and then see if it cranks over. If not test to make sure you're getting voltage there from the battery and the solenoid wire, if you are, and it still won't crank, the starter is the problem.

i think it stalled cause my throttle body positioning sensor is out. its not the first time its stalled on me. just the first time it wouldn't restart. as far as the wire gauge bein' the problem i dont't thats it cause i've had the relocation kit for a couple years now. i've hit the starter with a blunt object and got nothing.

ok i had the starter checked and it was fried. so i bought a new one and put it in but the car still won't turn over. it tries to but just won't crank. i'm affraid the motor has seized up. tomarrow i'm gonna try to manually turn the motor by the crank bolt. just curious but how hard should it be to crank the motor over?... should to crank fairly easy or is it tough to do?
