Default wierd noise coming from timing belt

so last week i broke my timing tensioner i got it fixed and now it has a really bad noise, really whiny, like a supercharger? is this nosie good or bad? anyone have this problem before?

to tell you the truth, im not sure. i had a shop replace it, so im guessing whatever was in it before

with them just replacing the auto tensioner its hard to say its a tensioner going bad lol unless they just fixed/reused your old one. how long has it been since the noise started b/c bew belts make noise when they are new.

If the belt is making a whining noise, 95% of the time there is too much tension on the timing belt. The other 5% would be a bad water pump. My guess would be there is too much tension on your timing belt. Was the shop that fixed it a Honda dealer?

no it was done at a local shop. they replaced all the timing stuff. . .

how much was the reapir? Becuase i have a auto tensioner problem thats on and off. Brought the problem to a local shop and they heard nothing. I drove the car some and then i hear the sound as clear as ever.

well mine broke and then it jumped timing, thankfully nothing got messed up! they replaced the tensioner, both timing belts, and some other stuff i cant remember right now. it cost about 450.
