Default Wheel Hopping?

My buddy has a 98 prelude with i/e and others. He has 18's with low profile tire would that cause it to wheel hop?

i thought wheel hop happens when your tires don't get enuff traction on a launch?

i have people telling me he needs front motor mounts....higher profile in tires..... and stiffer shocks... which sounds more reasonable? i have heard of motor mounts stopping the wheel hop problem....

get j00 a set of these

http://www.opmautosports.com/p....html

motor mounts will help a little bit...

also keep the tire pressures up

smaller rims wouldn't hurt

Can you explain these a little more? Wheel hop is my enemy!

Also aftermarket springs and shocks will also fight wheel hop

Lower the tire pressure and no more wheel hop.

last time I was at the track I found the opposite to be true.

I lowered tire pressure to increase traction - my 60's stayed the same, but wheel hop got much worse

the way i eliminated wheel hop at the track was to buy some 14s and put some mickey's on them. this made my launches incredible with no wheel hop and it also knocked about .3 off my ET. i got the wheels and tires for a total of $300. It is an awesome investment.

He hasn't replied in a while so i'll give this a shot..

Drive your car on a hoist and you'll see how much your radius rod bushings compress with acceleration.. (even on the hoist without the weight of the car!!) these solid bushings will keep your caster from loading and unloading (wheelhop) under acceleration.. popular mod for the EF's because they share the same suspension as prelude/accords - might be pretty rough on the street when you hit a pothole and you'll feel it when you hit a gear hard!!

i'm certain that your rr bushings are shot with the amout of power your putting to the ground. These bushings give exactly the same effect as a 'traction control' unit would for the civics but a hell of alot cheaper for the exact same effect. It's also adjustable which is a huge + because you can dial in your alignment perfectly. I seriously can't beleive the price of these things.. i think it's a great upgrade for high power ludes.

Yeah I'm picking up a set.

I got a lot of information here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=774968

And found a better designed one.
