Default what do you think

I have a 1990 2.0 si and Ihad a timing belt put on and new valves and all, but the car has a skip in it and the mechanic says he can't figure it out. I have heard everthing from EGR valve to the belt slipped a couple teeth, to the valves are bent. I'm thinking it could even be the O2 sensor. Ihave to be sitting in traffic for the engine light to come on so that's why I think it could be the O2 sencor. What do you think. I just wish that I will be able to take it to Rockingham this Sunday.

I think you need to explain what you mean by 'the car has a skip in it'

The car sounds like a four cylinder lawn mower when I drive it. And sometimes when I crank it up it fire emediately. Like it knew I was going to crank it up and sometimes it cranks up normally and it runs rich.

See I took my car away from him after a few days of trying. He said he think it's the EGR valve. I happen to stop at another shop for another car and he said the car sounds like it jumped timing. I took the car to another mechanic that only does Honda and he said it sounds like I got some bent valves. But I think it drives a little too well for the valves to be bent; but I don't know how well a car is supposed to run with bent valves anyway. I just haven't had time to take the valve cover off to know for sure. If the valves are bent I might as well get a new engine. I think I'll probably come out cheaper.

you could also just look for someone selling a head.. thats not hard. theres heads for sale all over preludepower.com.. you just have to look.. and while your replacing the head or something, get ahold of street_ruler on pp.com and ask about his 02 sensors. and then when u start the work you can swap heads. get the car back in time and then put the new o2 sensors on...

bent valves are not worth getting a new head for. just replace the valves cheif and dont over rev anymore.

Also, check your timing first seeing how thats the most inexpensive and most simple.
