can someone please tell me what this is what it does and what is it called?

Thats to reset the Maintenence Required "light" netx to it.When it turns yellow or red you can insert something like your key in that slot and it will reset green.

Are you kidding me that's the friggin trip reset. And its looks like you've used it as you have 77 miles on the trip.

He was asking about the slot not the trip reset.

how can you tell, when theres a line with no arrow on either end. that leads the the trip reset and the maintenance required hole, which you reset with your key........

if I'm correct, he's asking about the trip reset "button". the maintenance light key slot is not a button.

VTEC40: don't you have your car manual? if not, that explains why.

No don't push that. your car will suffer nuclear melt down, that is to the nuclear reactor in your blinker fluid. If you have to ask you should not be driving. Also that is what your owners manual is for anyway.

ive pushed it before and my car didnt come with a owners manual

If you pushed it and the car didnt blow up, you should probably take it to your nearest Honda Certified Dealer to have it looked at. We all know Hondas are built well, but every once in a while you *can* get a defective one.
