i was just wondering what type of system the maintainance required light runs off, ie timer or +/- feed back system. and how do i turn the damn thing off. TIA

 

a friends brother works at an acura dealership...every 7,000 or so miles it turns on. there is a button underneath the steering column. if you hold it down and start the car the light will turn off.

The light will come on after about 7000 or so miles without being reset, initially it will blink for a few seconds after the starting the car and then go out, after another x amount of miles it will stay on continuously.
just reset it by holding it down for about 10 seconds when the car is on.
the light will come on when you press the button and go out when it has been reset.
