Weird Ignition Problem
ok this is hard to explain...so i'll start from the beginning
last week i was driving my car, and all of a sudden my gauges(tach, speedo, temp, gas, and clock) would just turn off, then turn back on. probably happened over a period of 3 seconds. My car would also loose all power, basically shutting down.
fast foward to tonight...
i went to start my car like normal, it WOULD start, but as soon as the key returned to the "on" position, it would turn off (as if i turned the car off). i can start the car, and it will turn over, just not stay started in the "on" position. though i can keep it running if i hold the key is a little toward the start position.
what the hell!

It sounds like your ignition switch is going bad, because I had the same problem, but then it magically disappeared after rebuilding the motor (without changing out the switch, go figure). I'm assuming you have a 95 Prelude (judging by your SN), and I do know there was a recall on the ignition switch for like 97-98 Preludes, but not the 4th gens (as far as I know of). But yeah, I would push the key forward a little and it would kick back when I was having those problems, only mine would die in the middle of the street during rush hour
Anyone else have ideas?
