i am going racing tomorow and i was wonderin gwhat are some weight reduction mods i can do. nothing big like taking out the back seats. all i can think of is spare tire and jack. anything else i am missing? also, what are the chances of me (wtih a car with 10,000 miles), have a tire popped? its not common is it? also, how uch does the tire and jack weigh together? thanks

amazing.... think about it... How long have you had your tires? Have they popped on you yet? Have you abused them as I think you have on occasion? I know they held up through that, so shouldnt they hold up through more? Basically, dont worry about it... Or, take it out at the track once you get there.... Alot fo guys do that...

Take out your passenger seat... Its easy, takes 5 minutes if your slow... Plus its more beneficial thatn removing your spare as it weighs more... I think that way you could lose 100 pds or so with all of that to make up for your ***... If our cars only ran by themselves, they would be so fast... Remove spare junk..spare tire, jack... front pass. seat... Those are easy and wont hurt your daily driver at all... Since you dont want extreme, thats pretty basic and good advice!

hmm.. remove the engine... but your looking for speed right? Theres not much else that you could do that wouldnt take alot of time putting back on and taking off...You could if you wanted remove ac,ps,radiator heater bypass, light wheels, remove carpet and sound deading material, remove back seats, air bags, antilock brakes control unit, heater unit, dash, etc... But you dont wnat to do that do you? Thats why your running out of things so fast... Theres not really anything you can yank out besides the spare stuff in about 3 minutes and replace in the same...

basically it makes it so youhave less coolant in your radiator by not having coolant go to the heater... Its a simple mod thats done by connecting your hoses differently... Its been beat to death on here... water/coolant weighs alot... They figure less weight, faster warm up times, and some people think the extra pressure of recircullating everything that way adds performance..but they are crazy..if you wanna search it if its been hit recently and not only in the archives search for coolant bypass mod...

I pulled the washer fluid reservoir. Everything else that I did you would consider "extreme."
