Camber kit install problems...
Hey guys,
I just installed my camber kit (ingalls 3570) I go to lower my car, and my control arm is hitting my inner fender well. Anyone else have this problem? The fender well sits on the control arm...Anyone?
Thanks,
Josh

your doing something wrong. your controll arm usually doesnt move when you lower your car.... wel it does, but not enough to hit your well.... my advice, start over....
its not from lowering it...its from the camber kit pushing the control arm out...thusly adjusting camber
It is very common for it to hit and I was just wondering what you guys did about it.

hey,
na it is installed correct I know this for a fact...apparently this is common with the ingalls 1 degree to 3 degree adjustable kit. I have several friends with ludes that had the same probs. Whether it was installed by a shop or not. You can not adjust it all the way. What I had to do was push the kit back so that it was giving as little correction as possible, and it just barly cleared the piece that it was hitting. My camber is in spec now, but not that it cleared the part it was hitting it can adjust a bit more.

I had my inner fender wall shaved... thats the best bet bvut if u leave it for too long your control will break... thats what happened to my friend when he lagged on it... so do it quick...
I think I know what your problem is. When installing a camber kit, there's only certain point that you can adjust it till it hits that welded wheel well area. No mater if a camber kit says it can be adjust from 1 to 4 degrees, you can only go so much till these parts meet. My camber say it can be adjust from 1 to 3 degrees but all I can pull out of it is 1.75. If I go any further, it'll hit the welded part on top of my upper a arm. If this is what your problem is, here is a way to corrects it. Losen the balljoint form the control arm and upper a arm so that the a arm move freely. Move the a arm up and down and see how much clearence you have. Adjust the camber to the point that it almost hit the weld part but still enough to free it. Hope this help.
Well i think theres 2 different models of ingalls camber kit for the lude(correct me if im wrong). Anyway I forgot the model of my camber kit. I think the camber kit i have is if your car is lowered more than 3 inches and then they have what you have lowered between 1-3inches. Anyway I have no problems with my camber kit. No rubbing at all. I'll try to see if I can find out what model my kit is.
Edit: Opps...i didnt see you have a 4th gen. I am talking about my 5th gen. Anyway if it would help you or anyone else, the ingalls part#35580
