Default vtec question

I have a 98 Prelude that is a circle track race car. Has Skunk 2 series 1 cams and a Skunk2 intake. I have never driven this car yet. How can I verify VTEC is working. I have no where to drive it til practice day in a couple months and is not street legal. Is there a way to check it out?

Aren't the Cams illegal for Circle Track?!

^^^Agree. Dyno or a deserted road at 3am. VTEC won't engage in neutral.

Might work - but there has to be a load on the engine (resistance on the drive wheels). Maybe ride the brakes slightly with the front end elevated? Just kidding, that's a good way to glaze your pads.

use tuning software to lower vtec engage rpm to the lowest you can, (just temporarily) use caution, and take it around the block, or something

or see if you can get a temp trip permit from dmv..... in oregon all you have to do is have your license number and vin, pay 25 bucks, and your all good for 20 days.... just don't tell them its a racecar.. lol
