VTEC DOES NOT WORK ....
ok .. heres the deal ... i just swap a motor into my prelude 92 ... jdm h22a ... i installed everything .. no check engine light .. changed oil ... checked the vtec solenoid ... everything seems coo ... im running a stock h22a ecu ... p13 that is .... when i hit 4800 rpm the vtec does not kick at all ... any one have the same problem ?? dont wanna search ... cuz theres too much post ... but thanks if anyone can help i appreiate it ... !

well, then ecu would be my guess, are you sure that you wired it right, and did the vtec ever work when you first did the swap or has it always done this?
yeah it worked before .... cuz i blew my old motor ... hydrolocked ... from sucking water from a huge puddle ... and got another jdm h22a motor ... yeah im thinking its my ecu too .. because i was using my friend chipped ecu ... it worked great but damn it runs too rich and kills gas .... i just want my stock ecu so i can save gas ... cuz it dont run as rich as the chipped one .. but if its that case then .. thanks 94h22a ..!
Are you guessing VTEC doesn't work because you see the RPM's moving slowly or cause you don't hear it? Does it hit off the rev-limiter at around 6500RPM when you try to run it to redline? If your VTEC didn't work and your car doesn't show any CEL for it then it's probably oil pressure. Do some more troubleshooting and see what happens.
There are many parameters that the ECU needs to see in order to engage VTEC
1. Vehicle speed-Speed sensor
2. Oil Pressure-oil press sensor, oil too low, oil too old
3. Engine Temp-Coolant temp sensor, faulty thermostat
4. Vtec soleniod-Make sure it is connected. Make sure the wire is in the plug, I had the wire fall out of the plug on my VTEC soleniod (did not throw a CEL for some reason),everything looked physically fine and engine parameters looked fine when I scanned and monitored the ECU while driving it. Double and triple check.
