Default VERRY LOUD STARTING PROBLEM

hey,i have a problem that happens VERY randomly... i got to start my car lke any other normal day, and I push the clutch in,and turn the key. I turn it all the way and the car Just makes a SHRIEKING Sound, like somethings Grinding,it doesn't crank or whatever.... its really loud,and the sollution is that i just Put the car into 1st then back into neutral,a nd just F*** around with it...

ex: 1st to nuetral to 2nd, take foot of clutch, then back into neutral.. and then it starts right up normal!!

what is the problemo

mine just started somthing similar, when i try to crank it..it acts like it does not want to fire when it dose..but it idels at like 350 rpm and then jumps to a normal 650 rmp...it does not do it every time..sometimes it cranks right up...it does it more after ive been driveing it for a while then cut it off and try to start it back up later.

nah mine does not start it all

IT just Shrieks.. doesn't do aything lese...

then i shift aroudn with it..

and then restart it


and its works fineeee

could it be a clutch /flywheel prob?

it could be, but i would check my starter first. easyier job 1st.

if you dont know where the starter is then you may want it professionally done. sorry no pics.

Yes it could be the starter. I agree with gundamsr. YOu need to but the Helm manual. It is worth the money and will help immensly

I also would say check the starter first. If you dont know what it looks like it is the part that engages into the flywheel to crank the motor during start up. Common sense says it is next to the next to or in front/rear of the flywheel since it has to turn the flywheel. Definitly get a helms it will help with all of your problems.

I just had this problem with my 96 si, I thought it was my starter at first but it turned out I had a dirty battery terminal and my starter wasn't getting enough power and making the shrieking noise/ clicking noise that you are talking about.

Check all your connections from the battery to the starter and clean any corrosion off your battery terminals, hope this helps.
