Default Type sh block

Hey guys, i have a 97 prelude sh 5 speed.. my pistons are shot and my mechanic took the motor apart, he said the pistons scratched up the walls on the block.. i am searching for a block with full internals from any h22a4 but he says the block on the type sh looks different than the base model.. is this true? also every site i have checked lists different part numbers for the base model and the sh..

are the blocks interchangeable? thanks

Yea, the TypeSH block is different. Best thing would be to have the block bored out .25mm and use oversize oem pistons. Bad news is that there are only a few places in the country that will hone FRM, but shipping a block isn't too expensive. Look at this thread regarding boring/honing H blocks.

How to have FRM honed

This is hands down the best place to buy oem parts from. 30% off list price.

Why not just re-sleeve the block you already have?
