Matt, glad to see the old user name back. However I can't help but question the credibilty on this post. Especially since from my info, the H23 is, esentially in all simple terms, just an H22A4 with a 95mm stroke and no oil squirters. I can confirm this for the most part since I own one. I haven't meassured the mains... yet. The pistons are different from all others in the H tree, but everything else scream "this block was made like an H22" right down to the auto tensioner. It only makes sense since the red line is only 200 RPMs lower than the H22 and 1k RPMs higher than the H23A1.</TD></TR></TABLE>

the h23a most definately without a doubt has 55mm mains.

That's what I'm betting on. It really would not make sense in the late 90s/early 2000s for Honda to go back to the then outdated OBD1 H22/H23 design to produce the H23A. I would like to take a look at it today again, but I have the motor stashed in another city due to the fact I have no garage. I'm limited to weekend trips at best. tomorow I'll make it a priority to buy a digi cam so I can snap some pics...on sunday. I work on Saturdays (BOOO!). I think the K series is a good indication aboout Honda being all about what's "new" and "cool."

Where did you get this info from? I highly doubt that this is true.
