Default Type-s?

I have a 99 sh but I popped the motor and and am in search of a new one. for some reason I cant find one with decent miles or one at a fair price I still have the trans and I wanted to keep the atts feature on my car. I was wondering if the type-s motor is like the sh in regards to the atts feature and by chance would it be able to bolt up with the sh trans which I have and some thoughts about the qty available and cost of the type s.

Type-S engines are exactly like the SH engine in that they use the same trans bc of ATTS. However, you can't find Type-S longblocks, like regular H22s. They always come with the trans and ATTS unit, axles, ecu's, etc. The cheapest (and best/most reputable) source for Type-S engines is hmotorsonline. Iirc, they charge $3299 for Type-S swaps.

Yes, Type S bolts right up to the SH, but as you know, slightly higher compression. Get the Type S ECU while you're at it.

And then ATTS wouldn't work.

However, the Type S ECU apparently will not pass emissions. Something to consider in CA.
