Turbo Misfire Question
Car is turbo charged, but Cel comes on when cruising.
99 Honda Prelude
Car keeps throwing cel 71, 73, 74... seems like there is a slight studder when at low rpms... Other than that it runs fine.
Compression is about 215 across the board
Fuel setup:
Fmu 12:1
Walbro 255 intank fuel pump
V-afc
(all of this is on until Hondata gets put on at end of month... but want to make sure I don't have this problem after doing Hondata)
Could it be I'm running lean? I have ngk two step colder plugs and stock ignition, except for magnacore ignition wires. Distributor, cap, and rotor have been replaced. Plugs seem to look good, except for plug 4.. the electrode seem to be darker than other plugs.
I had a egr problem/cel coming on in the beginning, but cleaned everything, and now no EGR code.
Also could me having a simulator on secondary O2 sensor and not one on primary sensor cause a problem?
Thanks in advance for any kind of help.

Re: Turbo Misfire Question (PrecisionH23a)
NGK BKR7ES plugs... I believe there are pre-gapped.
Now I'm throwing a code 23 knock sensor along with misfire codes... I'm just going to garage it until my hondata gets put in.
I can feel my car in "safe mode" when I derive it. I boggs a little when vaccum gets close to zero.

Yeah, tried that also... same codes (71, 73, and 74) came back on second drive cycle.
I'm thinking it is just lack of fuel and obd2 computer....

Re: (littlechoppab20)
have you checked to see if the wires are popping up off the plugs ever so slightly? i had this problem on my d-series turbo and it'll cause misfires all day long. Not to mention that the wires are dead after that.
made a hold-down for the wires but they'd already arc'd enough from the misfires that they would arc onto the plugs and etch the sided of the plugs. I ate through a set of plugs every 2k miles before taking off my msd setup all together just to say to hell with it.
and yeah, I know I need to take the msd stuff outta my sig now but I'm too lazy haha

If they are the -11's they come gapped to a .044 and if they dont have the '-11' they come gapped to a .035. All of which are too large of a gap. Gap them to .030

Re: Turbo Misfire Question (littlechoppab20)
If that doesn't work, gap them a little closer, like .28 or so....
and if that doesn't work........ get a ignition/coil. you should of gotten one when you put the turbo on!!
