tuning on 89 octane?
Im getting ready to setup time to have my 95 vtec dyno tuned. Besides a loss in power what other issues could i possibly run into having it tuned with 89 octane in the tank. This is my daily driver and right now i average about 70+ miles a day going back and forth to work. Im not going to be doing any drag racing just the occasional weekend autocross. Currently my setup is stock intake minus the reasonator, Greddy header/SP exhaust, type-s cams, and aem cam gears. Keep in mind that i wont always be running 89 octane but probably a mix of 93 and also i will probably being adding the VAFC at the time of tuning. Am i flirting with blowing a motor or will the tuning on 89 and making sure the AFR and detonation are in check going to keep me safe?

Re: tuning on 89 octane? (98vtec)
so even if the a/f is good and tuned properly it would still be risky? hmmm.... filling up on premium 2-3 times a week takes its toll on the wallet, but im sure its cheaper than another motor.
