Transmission problem???
OK, so I have an H22A in my EG. My tranny (M2A4) has a Quaife LSD in it and when the guy who installed it had the tranny taken apart, he said that everything looked good (synchros, etc).
I've driven the car for about 1,500 miles now, and I've only really beaten on it a few times (only a couple of launches, etc).
Last night while driving it seems as thought the car was "dropping" into gear. After my shifting (clutch all the way out) from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, and sometimes even 3rd to 4th, I would hear like a clunk sort of like the engine was "shifting."
The easier I let out the clutch, the less I would hear and feel this "clunk." If I shifted easy enough, it wouldn't even be there. I don't think I even felt it at all in the transition from 4th to 5th.
Let me know what you think

does it do this clunk when you put it into the gear, or does it do it when you let out the clutch....if it does it when you go into gear its the syncros.....if its when you let the clutch out....hmmmm......check the motor mounts...thats about all i can think of....unless something is wrong with the diff....hope not dude...but it might be under warranty...anyway, to check the motor mounts, just go in first gear and take it up to about 4k, then punch it and let off real quick, if you feel it do the bump, its motor mounts, if not, then theyre fine....let us know....
The polyurethane insert on my rear HCP motor mount was torn and is gone (I knew this before the I started to notice the problem). Also, the clunk is happens when the clutch is all the way released...
Hmmmmm...it seems to be my rear motor mount. The company which I purchased the mounts from said that they would send me a new Energy Suspension insert. However, I am concerned...
Could the extra stress that has been placed on my rear mount (due to the lack of the insert) have damaged the entire mount? How much of a pain in the *** will installing the new insert be? Has anyone delt with a situation like this before?

My car has a quaife diff and clunks when corning on the gas, even just a little bit of gas, straight its fine, left and right fine out of gear or with the clutch on is fine and even clutch off in gear at idle rpm, but on the gas and turning it sounds like its going to blow apart, reverse is even fine on or off the gas, i already changed my motor mounts and axels, anyone know if this is the quaife diff?
