hey i have a 92 h23 lude. i have been noticing that it is very hard to put it into 3rd gear. now today i got in it and i couldnt even put it into reverse then i tried 1st also didnt work. if you know if my clutch is fried or what is wrong please help me out

 

How does the clutch feel? Have you checked the clutch fluid? Can you shift gears when the car is not running?

 

When you have difficulty putting it into gear, can you do it if you turn the car off??

 

First, do you have a short throw shifter? Like one of those dc deals ( little adaptor)
Take it out, its junk. If you did have it in, they mess up syncros and **** around with the gears lining up, so you might be up the creek. But your problem sounds like the cables or something theyre connected to is messed up. Look over the shift system closely. Also check your clutch system: slave cylinder, master cylinder, lines, and fluid. After that is done and the problem is still there then go to a tranny shop and ask them to diagnose it. If theres a problem inside it might be cheaper to just buy a new tranny. Or find a friend thats good with them, and lots of beer and food to give him. Good Luck.

Where have you heard that short shifters screw up your synchros and such? Or do you know from experience? please explain in further detail
