So guess the fact that the 5th gen accord is approx......
10" longer
0.5" wider
4" taller
......than the 4th gen prelude means nothing?

mod for mod........you're still driving a tank comparatively.
there is more to factor than suspension and brakes</TD></TR></TABLE>

It sits taller but it could be lowered. Wider is better And 10" longer.. well yes its a limo. point is that its not far off at all from your beloved lude. I notice you didnt mention weight. Maybe because they are within 30lbs or so of each other. Im simply saying it can be made to handle and perform quite well.
Either way i've moved on ,Im a DC fiver now

because the OP seemed to think you were talking to me and you didn't correct him........so how was i supposed to know?

my apologies

I'm just sick and tired of people posting **** that they heard second hand as fact.
This community doesn't appreciate the facts anymore, so i'm taking mine and going elsewhere.

I hope you guys can find those ratios again......It will probably be useful for someone else in the future, goodluck

sorry to post on an old thread but im new to this forum and it wont let me start my own thread yet...
bought a 96 accord wagon ex that has a f22 vtec ob2 and i just bought a h22 motor for it to swap in. im looking into getting a mp1a transmission and found one on ebay but he said "did not have the TCU/TCM with the car and the transmission was being controlled with the Accord TCU/TCM"

so im wondering what i would need to swap this lsd transmission into my car when i do the h22 swap?
the motor im getting comes with a tranny but w.o lsd so figured id sell it...
comes with:
Complete Engine Block & Head
Automatic Transmission
Intake Manifold
Exhaust Manifold
Valve Cover
Throttle Body
Distributor
Alternator
Spark Plugs & Wires
Injectors
V-TEC Solenoid
Starter
AC Compressor
Power Steering Pump
Oil Pan
Wiring Harness to ECU & TCU
TCU
All Stock Sensors

[QUOTE=Mervin;33768886]The shop manual states that MP1A is stock on the H23 and I know it also comes on the H22 JDM........there is a version with LSD though, dont know if there are different gearing in between these two, dont think so though

There are a few differences not just the FD.
Besides 1st gear ratio, all other gears are different as well. Most important, 4th of F22 is .7 while 4th of H23 is .75. Combined with the different FD cruising speed for the F22 @80 is 3300rpm while its closer to 4K with the H23.
All three transmissions are called 'MP1A' but there is a bit more to it.. The first is what you mentioned and is the more aggressive acceleration gearing, but on the trans stamp it would be MP1A-1xxxx the jdm one lesser gas mileage on the highway(Easy tell tale is to look for the differential cross pin, no pin = LSD). and the 2nd/3rd is the MP1A-?xxxx that is the lesser of the 3 and gets about 30mpg but still kinda sporty. The H23 MP1A-?xxxx is what I ended up going with on my h22a1/4/6 non jdm. Although the HP that I'm pushing now is not what was mentioned in a previous comment of 170 it's more like 155-160 and thats after i put 2.5 pipes on it.

Your stock F22A1 engine's horsepower rating is at 125. The F22A6 parts alone will bring you to 140. The A4 header should get you to 145 (the ONLY difference between the A1 and A4 is the tubular header on the A4... which is superior to both the A1 and A6, which both have cast manifolds) The H23 intake manifold and plenum should add another 5hp or more... no exact figures are set for that.
