TPS Problem!!!!
Has anybody here had a problem with the tps wires shorting out on their ludes. I have a Jdm h22a and the tps is adjusted right at .490 volts closed. The green wire on my tps sensor keeps shorting out and this causes me to kick a CEL 7 -- anybody with any experience on this issue?
It comes off the green wire the last one on the three wire harness. I am good at soldering and it shorted out the wire right after the pin plug. The car I quess does not like its tps cause it will actually short the wire and look as if it has been cut. I redid the ecu wires and solder them together and then readjusted the tps to .495 volts closed. This problem has really been driving me nuts cause I fix it then it lasts for maybe three weeks to a month and then it shorts out again and kicks a CEL 7 ..... I am thinking that it might not like it cause the car is untuned running really rich cause actually the car freakin runs better with it not working then when I run it -- just my gas mileage goes to crap....
I'm having a hard time visualizing what exactly you have going on...is it possible at all for you to get a picture of the area you are talking about, when it's not working?
you know the TPS sensor well the plug that runs to it has three wires in it. you can pop the pins out of it by unpluging it and using a small flathead screwdriver pull the plug apart and remove the pins well below the harness is the three wires which go yellow, red and green. The green one which is the one on the end keeps shorting out and seperates. I then solder the wire back together only to have it short out again....
no it makes the wires within their plastic skin harden and eventually they will break into pieces. It looked like someone cut the actual green wire itself cause it had shorted about 5mm from the end of the pin. I adjusted the idle and the tps voltage -- I will try and trace the wires and make sure that they are not shorting out somewhere else. I am thinking it is either the ecu or something wrong with the actual tps wires themselves. I soldered it back together but if it keeps happening my tps wires are going to look like a birds nest.....
