You need to make sure at 0 throttle its getting 0.50 Volts. If not it'll trip a TPS light. It should go from .5 to 5V on full throttle. I think the exact # is 0.45V but around that range should fix it

Try this first.

I dont think you can buy just a tps unless you get it out of a junk yard. I dont think it would just go bad either. Try what the other guy suggested and see what happens.

The plastic guide on the TPS had broken off

you installed the stock tps on the skunk2 tb correct? if i remember correctly, when i did mine, there was slots in the tps. all you have to do is loosen the screws slightly and turn the tps. i mean its only a mm or so u can turn it, but it made a BIG difference on the volt readings!

I installed the TPS on my RPM throttlebody. I did not get the skunk TB.

On the RPM TB i undid the screw at the end of the TB where the TPS fits into, but there was no adjustment in there. It was hard set, no room for adjustment.

the tps should be slotted where it bolts on. it should rotate a bit and that is how you adjust it.

it sounds like you took the screw out on the end of the shaft? maybe not but i'd be surprised if your tps wasnt slotted.

or are you talking about the screws that go through the TPS into the TB that need to be loosened and then you slide the TPS up or down a little ?

yup.

you need to get the voltmeter on there with it all hooked up, and the ignition on and rotate it to set it to the correct voltage.

ok i checked.

current setting was 0.64V at idle and 4.71V near enough to WOT.

AFter some stuffing about and seeing how sensitive it is i managed to get it to 0.53V at idle.

Will have another try to nail 0.5V tomorrow night

Thanks again guys

i used my hondata to tell me the voltage.

You can use multimeter across two pins on the D connector as well to measure the voltage
