Default TPS wont read full open

I had to replace my TPS so I got one from a spare TB and and put it on and tried to align it with a multimeter. I got it to read .45v at close throttle but it was only at 4.62v at full throttle. So I wanted to set the full throttle right and see what it read at part throttle if that makes sense. But I can't get it to read 5v at all. No matter how far I adjust the TPS it wont read 5v. Ever. What am I doing wrong? By the way it's a ITR throttle body in a EM1.

My buddy said that his helms said .45v close throttle and 5v full throttle. I hope it is .5v close and 4.5v full.

You need to be more concerned with the correct resistance, rather than voltage. Both are important however.

I was told to back probe the middle wire with the posative lead and body ground the negative. Now I'm confused.

Hey thanks a lot. Could the TPS have something to do with this issue?
