Default timing problem

92 prelude h23a - The timing was set perfectly by a friend and then i took the distributor off. I didnt make any marks because the distributor bolts up one way and to my understanding the rotor either goes one way or 180(which i think i would know if that were the problem). The car is running sluggish and i was told anytime i take off the distributor, i needed to reset the timing. Once I figure out how far im off, the chiltons says to advance or retard the distributor housing. Here is where my problem is.........the distributor housing doesnt move. It bolts up one way with several bolts. What do i need to turn in order to get with 15 +/- 2.

Loosen (not take out) the bolts on your dizzy. You should be able to move your dizzy left/right for adjustments.
