I tried the 2 12s in the trunk and from my point of view my single 12 in a custom glass box(1.0cf) sounds better and I keep my trunk. Good luck trying to fit the box in the first place.

if you can fit the box in the trunk with 12's you can do it. But gotta estimate your space and estimate what kind of box will fit.

The issue is, the Prelude doesn't have a large trunk. A properly built ported box for two L7's is going to be huge.

Min Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 1.75, 49.6
Max Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 3.25, 92.1
(Those are NOT including the port volumes, which will increase the overall size of the whole box)

That's 3.5 cubic feet of airspace within the box AT A MINIMUM for both subs, or 6.5 cubic feet for a max. Even at around 5 cubic feet it's going to be a large box. It *can* be done, but with the height of the rear deck, the box will have to be long and wide to try to get that airspace.

You could either switch to 10" subs, or go with a single 12". Even one 12" L7 in a properly built box with the port tuned correctly and a proper amp, it will be loud inside. Now granted you're going to get a good bit of rattling most likely.

Yeah I'm no longer getting 2 12" I because it will be very difficult. Im either going with 1 12" or 2 10". They will be DC Audio Lv4

dude just get 2 alpine type r 10s those are bout the best subs ever imo
or get the alpine box is that is very small has a built in amp. and is the equivelant of 3 10s except u still have sooooooooo much space in the trunk becuz u dont need amps or anything you just hook it up power ground remote
its amazing if your trying to save space

I had a single 12 in a 5.5 cubic foot ported enclosure in the trunk at one time. I had to build the box in two pieces and finish assembly in the trunk for it to fit. Tuned to 18 Hz, it was superb at reproducing near infrasonic frequencies.

Now I just run 4 10's on the rear deck in small sealed boxes so I can have my trunkspace. Car audio is always a compromise.
