Default starting the engine without a key. how?

does anyone know how to start the engine without the key? i took out the ignition but the immobilizer is keeping me from starting it. i bought this 97 lude and the guy lost his keys and until i get the damn thing registered i can't get a new set of keys from the dealer. i'm having problems registering it too because he lost the papers from the chp and the aquisition papers needed to be cleared at dmv. i'm afraid i've gotten myself into a big mess. i'm thinking about hitwiring it but have no idea how to. also, would i be able to make a new set of keys through a locksmith? please help me out.

you have to program the ECM. i'm sure you could get a module from a car that doesn't have the Immob.. but what a pain. I could help you out if you had atleast 1 key (like doing a push button start), but without that.. you're SOOL

you could get a obd2->obd1 jumper and run a obd1 vtec prelude ecu. and then change your key cylinder to a new one and the car would start normal and no more immobilizer or tha damn obd2

Nice idea, but I think he is looking for a less permanent and less costly alternative.

well with the 97 and up computer in the car you will not be able to hotwire the car because the imobilizer in the ecu wont let it work. Your SOL if you dont want to spend money...

First of all you will need either A: a key that will turn in the ignition, or B: to have removed the electrical portion of the switch so you can turn it by hand, and C: the 5 digit brake code (can get this from your dealer, or me if you can provide proof of ownership).

There is a way to start the car without the transponder key, but you must enter the code each time you start the car. You do this by setting and releasing the parking brake repeatedly determined by the code.

Your dealer (or I) will need your VIN and proof of ownership to cut you a key and give you the brake code. Your other alternative is to have the car towed to your dealership and have them do all of this there. Good luck.

hey 93VTEC! i can provide you proof of ownership and the vin#! when you say proof of ownership do you mean the registration under my name? i don't have that BUT i have the change of ownership title from dmv only right now cus they wanted to clear some things up before registering it to me like.. smog, brake lights, chp papers, and acquisition papers. let me know if this is cool i'll send you pictures of the paper and vin#. If you can send me a copy of the title with the VIN on it I will give you the brake code, but if I give you a key you will need to pay for it, either via paypal or CC. Also I will have to ship/mail it to you
