ok..so im driving. i drive it alot and maybe a little hard. i go to the gas station so i turn off my car. im done filling it up. i start my car but...it cranks and cranks and starts. then 2 seconds later, i cant rev it or anything and it just dies. this happens sometimes but kinda alot. whats wrong with it? why does it die like that?
same thing was going on in my 4th gen. It was the starter.....got to the point where it wouldn't start at all......then i would go back an hour or 2 later and it would start right up. But try the starter, sounds like the same problem i was having

i swapped the engine before and my old motor did the same thing.....would it be the starter for both? the new motor i have is rebuilt and new parts.....
not really sure.......i took mine to a local guy that only works on hondas and toyotas and he replaced the started and has been working ever since.......not sure if thats you problem to but hey its worth a shot to take it by a shop and ask them if that could possibly be the problem.

andyD is right, no way its the starter at all.....this is an intermittent main relay problem due to heat......
electronics that are starting to crap out will work cold but then after you drive it and things get hot inside, they cease to work, but then will work fine again after they cool a bit....
hence how it probably starts fine at home, but after you drive some and then shut it off, it wont start, due to the heat thing....then you give it like 2 minutes to cool off and it starts fine....my 93 vtec used to do this, it was the main relay.....

No, buy that oem or re-soldier the connections yourself.
It's located under the dash by the steering column

i agree wholeheartedly, it is the main relay. i had to buy one from Honda and my butt still hurts $73 and that's preferred customer discount
