speedometer
So is your speedo busted and you can't hit vtec? One or the other? Check engine light on / throwing codes?
[Number 5] NEED INPUT.
But no; busted speedo will not take away your vtec.

the speedo works kinda but it does not read the right speed. and im throwing vtec pressure switch and solenoid code..ive rewired vtec, checked the screen..i have no clue what is wrong, i am stumped. and what is the VSS?
VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor - it is a sensor with 3 wires coming from it that sits on top of the transmission. The wires are black for ground, black/yellow for power, and orange for signal.
If you take the intake piping out and look directly down onto the transmission - you will see the VSS. It is held on top of the transmission by 2 10mm bolts.
And to answer your question - VTEC does not engage unless the car is over 20mph, so if your speedo is not working your VTEC will not work either. VTEC also works off of engine temperature and RPM as well.
