I have a lude with a straight pipe instead of the muffler. I just bought it. The throttle timing is retarded a bit when i gas it, the sound is loud and obnoxious unless i barely add pressure to the gas pedal, but for some reason that slows my car down rather than make it slightly accelerate. What could be wrong. Also my headlights are wobbly because the stud is loose from the upper mounting socket, how can I make a simple fix ? $ tiny bulbs on the spoiler for the light when i press the brakes dont work, what would be the cheapest replacement. Any suggestions???
Thanks.
Thanks.
For the straight pipe you can replace it with a high flow cat or a reg. cat.
As for the loud exhaust issue, you can get a resonator, which will tone done the exhaust.
For your middle tail light, try new bulbs from Pepboys or something that should help.
For the most part, when fixing your car it wont be cheap.
Buy quailty parts. Remember you get what you pay for.

Cel code is when your check engine light comes on. There is a little jumper harness in your car that you can use to check why the Check Engine Light came on

for when u ask...the harness is behind the cd player in the dash its a small 2 pin blue plug. take and put a paper clip in both end to close the circuit. then put the car in acc mode. you check engine will flash a series of flashes to indicate which code it it. 1 long flash = 10 1 short = 1. add up the flashes and you have your code number.

correct, except the ign. key needs to be in the ON position. But you don't need to start the car to check the codes

Sounds like the timing might be off...

I assume he doesn't want a muffler??? A MUFFLER would probably MUFFLE down the sound a bit wouldn't it?
But the resonator will help a bit and a regular non gutted cat would help by restricting the flow of exhaust (which is what you need to tone that loudness down)(or by using dapening equipment like muffler etc)
